The School OT can help with:

Fine Motor Skills
Using hands and fingers to perform actions such as cutting, drawing, picking things up, manipulating objects in the hand, holding, posting etc.

Handwriting
Developing hand dominance, correct pencil grasp, tracing, copying, letter formation and pencil control

Gross Motor Skills
Posture and body awareness, hand eye coordination, crossing the midline, reciprocal movements etc. for functional movement and play

Play skills
Turn taking, social skills, structured play, constructive and imaginative play development.

Sensory Processing, attention and behaviour
Over or under- responsiveness to sensory inputs such as touch, sound, smell, movement etc. and assisting with maintaining appropriate levels of attention and emotional regulation.

Self Care Skills
Developing skills for taking care of oneself such as shoe lacing, managing fastenings like buttons and zippers, using a knife and fork, toileting difficulties etc.
The School OT is owned by Alison Hill, an Occupational Therapist with over 15 years experience working with children of all ages, ability levels and diagnoses. Alison has a passion for working with kids and has 3 children of her own. She has worked in homes, schools and community settings and loves making a difference in the lives of kids who need a little extra support, and their families.
